History

Novernia's history spans over almost 27 years. It all began in 1999 when the state was first founded as the Kingdom of Southern Lohusalu on 24 June 1999. On 19 January 2005 the Kingdom went under Estonian governance. On 24 August 2019 the Kingdom regained independence as a micronation, but as a Principality. On 3rd December 2020 the prime minister (current president) reformed the country to a Republic and became president. The Republic of Ignaliné is very advanced. The nation has four national parks: Tõllupea NP, Nabe Island NP, Noverholm NP, North-Lohusalu NP. The nation is 2.1 km² (0.81 mi²) in size and only borders Estonia. The nation has passports, a currency, a central bank, a civil bank, Noverholm Carrington-Wright International Airport, government, president, embassies, parliament, citizens, online presence, websites, laws, cities, regions, diplomatic relations, etc.

The Republic of Novernia is located on the Lohusalu peninsula, completely surrounded by Estonia, 41km from Tallinn city center. Our capital is Noverholm, and it is also the biggest city. The city of Porta d'Mar can also be referred to as Nordyn.

Government

The Government of Novernia is structured into three parts: executive power belongs to the president, legislative power belongs to the parliament, judicial power belongs to the National Court. The Government enforces everything these powers do. The Republic of Novernia is a presidential republic.

NGL Alliance

Novernia is a proud member of the NGL Alliance (Novernia, Gertaly, Larsonia). This diplomatic alliance was established to promote mutual recognition, secure communication channels, and shared international rules among its sovereign members.

What is the NGL?

The NGL is a sovereign diplomatic and strategic alliance founded to promote mutual cooperation, peace, and collective development among micronational projects. It acts as a collaborative platform where member states work together on international treaties, shared cultural events, and regional stability.

What responsibilities do member states have?

All member nations are obligated to maintain open and respectful diplomatic channels, uphold international peace within the alliance, and refrain from any hostile actions against fellow members. Decisions made by the Grand Council must be respected to maintain organizational harmony.

What are the benefits of being a member of the NGL?

Members of the alliance enjoy full diplomatic recognition among all participating nations, access to joint cultural and graphic projects, preferential trade or immigration agreements, and a seat at the Grand Council to vote on international policies.

How can a micronation apply for membership?

To join the NGL , micronation must submit a formal diplomatic request to the alliance council. The applicant nation must possess a defined structure, a functional leadership or government body, and must formally agree to respect the sovereignty and foundational principles of all current member states.
